The number of points you need for a trip is now based on the published fare at the time of booking. That means when the fares are lower, so is the number of points required. Plus, we’ve made it easier for you to use your points with new redemption options. Learn all about the changes

Updates concerning points redemptions
As of July 4, purchases made with VIA Préférence points will no longer require the payment of taxes in cash or by card. Consequently, the temporary 30% reduction currently applied on all redemptions will come to an end on July 3, 2024.
